Santa Barbara is always a good idea.
Just south of Santa Barbara is a beautiful old fashioned rose farm called Rose Story Farm. This lovely hillside property grows over 18,000 rose bushes and over 120 types of French, English and American rose varietals. The farm is open to the public every Wednesday and Saturday for tours or arrangements can be made to book a special event. I was there in July for a tour and birthday lunch!
Me with the birthday girl!
We started in the charming gift shop where I bought a sun umbrella for our walking tour.
Walking shoes, a hat or an umbrella are a must!
Owner and master rosarian, Dani Hahn, lead our tour and educated us on many of the beautiful and fragrant roses.
After the tour we were treated to a garden party style luncheon!
Each table was adorned with a fresh arrangement from the farm.
Refreshments were provided by our host!
Flowers were passed around during our luncheon and we were further educated on the farms
boutique roses: fragrance, shape, color, history.
If you love the romanticism of roses and want to treat yourself to a wonderful outing,
visit Rose Story Farm! Tours begin at 11.30 a.m. on Wednesdays and 11.00 a.m.on Saturdays,
and run approximately 1 hour, followed by a picnic lunch in the garden.
Santa Barbara IS always a good idea! xo
